This Thing Called Love

You gotta give a little,
Take a little,
and let your poor heart break a little.
That's the story of,
that's the glory of love!

You gotta laugh a little,
Cry a little,
until the clouds roll by a little.
That's the story of,
that's the glory of love!
The Glory of Love - Lyrics by Billy Hill

Love, love, love......I love Valentine's Day. I love the fact that an entire day has been set aside just to celebrate L-O-V-E! I love everything it stands for and all the memories it evokes. First crush. First kiss. First love. I love the thought of people being giddy, gushy and googly-eyed. I love jewelry, chocolates and flowers and anything else that can be stuffed into a love-filled package. Put on some Barry White and I'll become your love slave!

On Valentine's Day you cannot ignore your emotions any more than you can ignore fireworks on the 4th of July. It's not just about hearts and red balloons, but also romance and emotional connections. You know that old expression, "wearing your heart on your sleeve." Love has a way of bringing all our emotions to the surface, especially on this special day. And, if your heart has been broken, don't get discouraged. Love will find you again. Love always finds its way, if you are open to it.

There are many ways to demonstrate your affection on Valentine's Day, whether you're a late bloomer or a seasoned player. While there are no laws about what's right or wrong, I strongly discourage "handshakes." I think a soft kiss or a warm hug are more appropriate for the occasion. Of course, the kiss has to fit the situation......such as an affectionate kiss on the cheek, playful kiss on the forehead, gallant kiss on the hand or a lustful lip-lock. Then, there's the continental double cheek kiss, polite air kiss, sloppy baby-drool kiss, spit-swap kiss, french kiss, and, the all time favorite, ambush kiss that you never saw coming but enjoyed none-the-less.

Whatever you do......don't fake it.....it has to come from the heart. I repeat, DO NOT FAKE IT!!!!!! You have 364 other days of the year to lie, but not on February 14th! Love is pure.....Be sweet, be tender......Be tactful and sincere. And, if words fail you, write a love note.....or, better yet, let Hallmark do the talking. It can't hurt and will probably help.

Having said all that, The Pink Crusader is playing the role of "Cupid" this week and proudly presents "Love Notes" from you and yours. To quote the Beatles,"all you need is love....love is all you need."Let the Lovefest Begin!

Dear Children: Ti ricordi la leggenda di Dedalo ed Icaro? "Vola tra cielo e mare. To Debra, A Valentine Poem
Another year
And I’m still here
So have no fear--
You’re still my dear!

And so we find
Love’s state of mind:
A tangled twine
We can’t unwind

Or should I say
Some other way
Love’s simple, and may
We simply seize our day?

Yes! Yes! It’s all of this:
A bit confused and Heaven’s bliss
Ah, love, let’s not chide and miss
Redemption in a tender kiss
